Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) – Peter’s Story

Each year, Peter is involved in organising a Christmas party during the festive period for the local Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) in Shiregreen, Sheffield.

Aged 64, Peter Askew is now retired due to ill health, yet still enjoys volunteering with the local Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) in Shiregreen, Sheffield. Each year, Peter is involved in organising several trips out for the TARA members and also helps to co-ordinate a Christmas party during the festive period.

To celebrate the season of giving, each TARA resident receives a small gift at the party, and Peter has been in charge of ordering these for the last 2 years.

“We bought magnifying sheets from Complete Care Shop for last year’s Christmas party. This year I placed an order for 120 Long Handled Shoehorns! The shoehorns where bought as part of a Christmas gift package for our elderly members. Their health conditions can vary from being active to needing additional support. Though I believe that they all will find them useful.”

Having been impressed with the quality and price of the shoehorns, as well as how easy it was to find them on the Complete Care Shop website, Peter was more than happy to place his order and is looking forward to seeing the faces of the Shiregreen TARA members as they open their gift at this year’s Christmas party.

“The Long Handled Shoehorns will benefit all the members of TARA, even the ones who are mobile, because bending is still a task best avoided. I’d recommend these shoehorns to anyone with mobility problems, or who needs help in dressing, and if you see something on the Complete Care Shop website you’d like to buy, but have a few questions, the telephone staff are very helpful.”
