In July 2019, we received a heartfelt email from the Head Coach of the England Amputee Football Association - Owen Coyle Jr asking for a donation of crutches, of course, we were more than happy to help.
Owen, the son of Owen Coyle Senior, a former Scottish footballer and manager, was made Head Coach of the national amputee football team at just 20 years old and has spent the past 2 years training the Senior Squad of the England Amputee Football Association to an International Level.
The England Amputee Football Association is a charity, which means it relies on donations from the public and sponsorship from other organisations to provide access to amputee football. Owen was keen to get in touch with us and ask if we could provide the Senior Squad with some black crutches to give them a more unified, professional look as they train for the European Amputee Championships 2020 in Poland…and, of course, we were more than happy to oblige!
Together with German manufacturer Ossenberg GmBH, a brand which is well-known for its high quality products, we have jointly donated 50 sets of Soft Grip Black Crutches to the England Amputee Football Association and Owen has very kindly been in touch with us to let us know just how much this means to him and the Senior Squad.
“We are thrilled that Complete Care Shop and Ossenberg GmBH have kindly sponsored our new crutches. The players used to use a variety of styles and colours and it wasn’t a great look, but with the Ossenberg Soft Grip Black Crutches, the guys will look extremely professional and smart as we train and play international matches next year. We’re really grateful and would like to thank both companies for their generosity.”
The Senior Squad used their new Ossenberg crutches for the first time during a training session in October 2019 at Reaseheath College which was filled with workshops, small sided games and an in-house International fixture. Thank you so much to Owen for sending across this selection of wonderful photos which, we think you’ll agree, really shows off the athleticism and talent of the EAFA players.
