Meet Chris and Laura. They have four children. Their eldest son – Brooklyn, aged 13 – has cerebral palsy and autism, and they live in a beautiful Grade II listed farmhouse. But Brooklyn has high care needs and the house simply isn’t set up in a way to make it easier for them to care for him.
Their only option now is to move to a new home and set it up to better meet the needs of the whole family.
In this first episode, Chris and Laura show you around their current home, explaining some of the accessibility issues and struggles that they face. Chris also takes us through their routine with Brooklyn and how it’s impacted by living in a house that just isn’t suitable for their needs.
We’ll be following Chris and Laura as they go about their journey to a more accessible family home. Make sure to check out next month’s newsletter for the next instalment where we’ll be catching up with the family in their new home and learning about their journey to making it more fit their needs.
