A member of our occupational therapy team, Lauren James is fully qualified and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC, OT64126). Lauren James qualified in 2011 with a first-class degree in Occupational Therapy. Following this, she went on to complete a Masters in Developmental Psychology. She then packed her bags and moved from the Wirral to London to start her first occupational therapy job within St Thomas’s Hospital. After working for this hospital for five years in a variety of wards including vascular, medicine, trauma orthopaedics, and respiratory, she started a new job at St Georges hospital specialising in amputee rehabilitation. To further her career, Lauren then moved to specialise as a wheelchair therapist before stepping out of the NHS to progress her career in the private sector, focusing on seating assessments. Now at NRS Healthcare, Lauren works within the Berkshire community equipment service at the Theale depot. She is very hands-on with the equipment at the depot, helping to organise equipment reviews, offering equipment alternatives to prescribers, and organising recycled special equipment. Lauren also works very closely with the NRS team at the depot as well as with the prescribers, delivering training and offering clinical advice and support. Lauren is driven by implementing and delivering change and innovation throughout a wide and varied career. Having made the move to live in the countryside outside of London with her husband, they enjoy exploring the outdoors with long countryside walks. An avid reader and film fan, Lauren and her husband have had a cinema membership for the past seven years and have been known to watch up to 100 films at the cinema each year. Also a fan of Formula One and golf, Lauren hopes to one day make it to Augusta and various racetracks around the world.
