One of our occupational therapists, Emma Newton is fully qualified and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC, OT30509). She is also a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
Emma Newton qualified as an occupational therapist in 1999 with a BSC Hons Occupational Therapy. Other qualifications gained are: Leadership qualification, Trusted Assessor Train the Trainer, First Aider for Mental Health, MOCA Cognition Assessor and an HND in Leadership Management. Her background is in NHS acute trust working in stroke, neuro, orthopaedics (both elective and trauma), rehabilitation, renal, cardiology and cardiothoracic, surgery, durable medical equipment (DME) and medical.
Emma also worked in community rehabilitation for 2 years as a locum. Her special clinical interest areas are cardiology and cardiothoracics, adaptations, equipment and cognitive assessments. Her interests outside work include Girl Guiding, Run Youth Group and she is also a school governor.
